Peace Quilt

Peace Quilt was made from 100 (2" x 2") woodcuts pasted onto handmade Yamaguchi Kozo paper. Each dove print was cut and printed from four blocks of shina plywood before becoming part of the collage. The green leaves were designed to form the stylized "Peace Symbol" of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament. The border of the "quilt" was also printed from wood with the printed image then cut and pasted onto the Kozo. This piece was created specifically for the KIWA Exhibition in Kyoto, Japan, in 2011.
